"Mr President, this obsession with focusing only on the quantity of the cuts to be made and not on how or what to cut, and even less on how to increase revenue, is already a cause for concern. Firstly, more Europe means a better Europe insofar as it means less economic power for the Member States. Secondly, we must, of course, also review expenses. However we must be careful about where we do so: one proposal would be to reduce military spending; another would be to reduce the two European Parliament sites to a single one. We believe that these are the most important suggestions.
