"... much of the institutional arrangements including the wage setting arrangements in various Member States. These emergency situations have been handled through policies that were jointly developed by the EU, the IMF, the ECB and the governments of the Member States concerned. Indeed, there are still some open questions, and also some raised by the so-called Euro-Plus Pact. We recently held a number of discussions about the connection between social dialogue and economic governance with the social partners, including the ETUC. This is an ongoing discussion. I am not saying that all the questions have been answered and that is exactly why I took the initiative of organising a conference on wages and wage setting in the EU. This conference will take place with the involvement of the social partners and other stakeholders in September. We will continue this discussion and hopefully find the right answers."@en1
