However, we do not support the idea that differences in fiscal provisions may result in significant obstacles to cross-border transactions or that the coordination of national tax policies, as proposed by Mr Monti in his report, would bring substantial added value to enterprises and citizens. On the other hand, we are in favour of coordination between the Member States to prevent tax avoidance and tax havens for enterprises. Tax rates remain a matter for the Member States."@en1
