lpv:translated text	"The Commission’s original basic proposal was fairly problematic from the point of view of both consumers and companies. The rapporteur has done an excellent job, though, as a result of which important steps can be taken towards more consistent consumer protection in the development of the internal market without compromising on a high level of consumer protection. Hopefully, this will promote cross­border distance sales. We have to remember, however, that there are many other factors that are still hindering the growth in e­commerce in Europe. In the future, we will have to work, for example, to speed up payments traffic and make the collection of cross­border payments a more effective exercise, allowing small and medium­sized enterprises to venture more readily into the European e­market."@en1
