"The outcome of this vote sets a fundamental precedent along the road which I hope will one day lead to the concentration of all of Parliament’s activities in a single place.
Actually, I think we can no longer tolerate the waste of public resources and atmospheric pollution caused by the dual location of Parliament, which each month forces thousands of people to make long and difficult trips between Brussels and Strasbourg. Putting the two October plenary sessions together in the 2012 official calendar sends a very strong signal and I am optimistic that the path we have taken is more honest and in tune with citizens’ wishes."@en1
