lpv:translated text	"Mr President, I gave my vote to Mrs Járóka’s report, but I want to explain my position in a little more detail. The Roma question is a paradoxical one for Europe in many senses. It challenges the fundamental values and ideals of the European Union in practice, but, on the other hand, it is born out of one basic right, freedom of movement, which is a traditional way of living for one nation. There are Roma in Finland too; there, the problem is mainly the low standard of education and consequent unemployment. That is why we need to invest in education in particular. Soft law is no longer enough, and soft measures are not either. We need consistent legislation and practical measures that are binding on everyone.
