"The Nedelcheva report makes a painful observation about the Union’s progress in relation to equality between women and men. It is sad that we have had to wait until 8 March for it to be remembered that 50% of European citizens are female, and that their right to equality is being flouted throughout Europe.
I welcome this report on account of its stated desire to introduce binding measures to enforce equal rights. Nevertheless, I regret the fact that it boasts about the Europe 2020 strategy and retirement at 64, and that it states that ‘the family is a cornerstone of our society’. The cornerstone of our society is citizenship and the law. I must denounce this process which seeks to make us swallow anti-social and culturally regressive pills bathed in impotent good intentions."@en1
