"Mr President, ladies and gentlemen, the clear proof that the right to European citizenship is still not guaranteed lies in the serious inequalities that still exist between Member States. Compared with other places, there is no right to health that can be exercised to the same extent in Bulgaria or Romania, so it is evident that this resolution, with all its complications, can be a useful point of reference.
Today, we celebrate International Women’s Day and there is no doubt that access to treatment and support is still much more complicated for women. Therefore, we need more information, more prevention, treatment and rehabilitation, and healthier lifestyles.
Appropriate lifestyle choices are what is required, so we must say no to addiction, no to obesity, to alcohol, to smoking and to infectious diseases. To do this, we need a real cohesion policy that looks at the issue of the right to health as a truly European goal."@en1
