"Our national legal systems all have their own ways of dealing with adoption and other childcare issues. However, since issues such as people trafficking and the sexual exploitation of children have such an international dimension, EU-level action may be appropriate. We must never lose sight of the fact that the best interests of the child are paramount, and accordingly, I voted in favour of this resolution."@en1
