"The Greens/EFA voted against this report, although Green MEPs voted in favour of the Gauzès report in the Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs. The reason why they did so was that, by the time of the vote in that Committee, the text was by far more ambitious that the final agreement reached with the Council. The text is, admittedly, a first step in the right direction since hedge funds were not previously obliged to be transparent. However, the version issued by the Council does not satisfy Parliament on some of the key demands, and weakens some of the arrangements foreseen by the Commission in its original proposal."@en1
