lpv:translated text	"I firmly believe that it is important to create a systematic framework for monitoring and supervising alternative investment funds. The regulation of these funds forms part of a broader regulation of the financial sector, aimed at preventing a repeat of the financial crisis. I support the submitted proposal, and I would like to emphasise that we do not thereby wish to restrict the entry of alternative investment funds from third countries into the countries of the European Union, but to set out unified conditions which must be met, not only by the alternative investment funds, but also by the third countries in which they are based. As publication of information and supervision are key elements in fulfilling the aims of the directive, it is important to introduce absolute transparency in respect of the supervisory bodies. I would like to end by congratulating Mr Gauzes for an excellent piece of work."@en1
