"How can one fail to vote for a report with a title such as this? How can one fail to emphasise the need to draw up legislation that is simple, transparent and comprehensible to European citizens? To be more precise, I clearly fully support this own-initiative report by Parliament, firstly because we should be constantly striving to produce better legislation, and, secondly, because it highlights a number of crucial issues. One such issue is the European Commission’s impact assessments, the independence and reliability of which must be guaranteed."@en1
