"We must maintain a high standard of care for older people, and this care must be a prioritised part of the welfare system that is developed in line with demographic change. We fully understand the setting of requirements for minimum social standards for all contracts in the care sector, but we think it is unfortunate that minimum wages are specified, something that we do not always have in Sweden, as it is the responsibility of the social partners to set wage levels. The setting of wage levels does not fall within the competence of the EU, either. We do not believe that this situation should change in any way, but have, nevertheless, chosen to vote in favour of the motion for a resolution, as we believe that the main issue is a very important one."@en1
