"Yesterday, 7 September 2010, we voted against the report () on the role of women in an ageing society (). The main reason for this is the fact that we do not support the proposal for a system where all citizens in the EU are granted the right to a basic income or the report’s call for positive discrimination measures in favour of women. There is also a proposal for the European Parliament to call on Member States to introduce new types of leave that make it possible to take paid leave for caring duties other than parental leave. In this regard, we wish to uphold the principle of subsidiarity. At the same time, however, we would like to emphasise that there are parts of the report with which we are in agreement."@en1
