"I voted against the Timber Regulation during Wednesday’s vote. The purpose of the regulation, which was to minimise the risk of illegally felled timber being placed on the EU market, started out as a good one. During the negotiations, however, the proposal moved in a direction that would result in excessive interference in the market, which is not proportionate to the extent to which it would be possible to limit illegal logging. I therefore voted against the proposal."@en1
