"I supported this important report. The rapid development of science and technology has created the prerequisites for particularly advanced and innovative food manufacturing processes and measures. However, there is serious concern about the impact on human health of food produce made using genetic engineering, the modification of somatic gene cells and nanotechnologies. The development of science and technology is unavoidable and essential in today’s world but, at the same time, it must be safe and dispel doubts over negative consequences on human health. Therefore, extremely strict rules on control and access to the market must be applied to food produce manufactured in this way and consumers must receive necessary and relevant information about it and have the right to choose."@en1
