"According to the 31 May 2010 issue of the Italian newspaper
some Italian insurance companies are applying a so-called nationality risk charge. The upshot of this charge is that citizens of countries which have large migration flows, such as Romania or Bulgaria, are obliged to pay higher charges when taking out a car insurance policy.
According to Italian legal experts, Italian immigration legislation provides non-discriminatory access to services, regardless of the applicant’s nationality.
The question which I am asking Parliament this evening is whether such a practice can be considered to comply with European legislation on discrimination."@en1
