"(
) The Swedish Conservative delegation yesterday (18 May 2010) voted against reporton the EU Policy Coherence for Development and the ‘Official Development Assistance plus’ concept (). The primary reason for this is that we do not support the proposal for the introduction of an international transaction tax. Introducing a Tobin tax would simply harm developing countries and lead to greater poverty. We would like to stress, however, that there are elements in the report which are in line with our thinking, for example, the point that EU export subsidies for European agricultural products have had a disastrous effect on food security and the development of a viable agricultural sector in developing countries."@en1
