lpv:translated text	"I voted for this report, which tackles the problems facing farmers in many EU Member States. I would like to emphasise in particular the importance of an amendment which I tabled in committee, and I wish to thank my colleagues who supported it. The aim of the amendment I am alluding to is to ensure that the way in which areas with natural handicaps are delimited is relevant by basing it on homogeneous ecological zones rather than on LAU 2, as is the case at the moment. I also wish to point out that I feel that it is appropriate to include in the Commission’s future proposal flexible rules which also allow aid to be granted to farmers in zones with natural handicaps with a small area, located from an administrative perspective in units which do not meet the established criteria."@en1
