lpv:translated text	"The situation of the Greek economy has, undoubtedly, aroused much emotion. Its catastrophic condition is both the effect of the world crisis and the result of the neglect of the government in Athens. It is because of the failure to carry out serious reforms and an interpretation of macroeconomic data which was too casual that Greece is, today, on the brink of bankruptcy. Greece is going to feel the effects of today’s economic collapse for many years to come. Therefore, it was with great interest that I studied the proposed forms of support which the Council intends to give to Greece. I am glad that Greece can count on help, but this should be linked to immediate and radical reforms of public finances. Our reaction to the crisis in Greece must be a clear signal to other Member States which are struggling with similar problems that robust internal reforms are the route they must take to lift themselves out of the crisis."@en1
