Introducing a ‘Tobin tax’ would run the risk of undesirable side-effects which would harm the international market, which is, of course, the market in which poor countries need to be involved in order to enable their economic development on fair terms. In my view, it is not clear how the Tobin tax could help to prevent future financial crises without global consensus and support."@en1
