"There is not much to say on this report that is not self explanatory. Clearly, more than any other time, there is a need for financial institutions to pause and reassess their approach. In the last two weeks, two former high ranking officials in Ireland’s biggest bank have been arrested in dawn raids. This is a dramatic statement of the need for responsible and moral financial management. There is just one point I would like to make, and that is the greater need for transparency in our financial institutions, be it at regional, national or EU level. This report calls for greater transparency which I am sure the majority of MEPs will support"@en1
