"I welcome the Buşoi report on SOLVIT. This informal network for solving problems related to the internal market has been crucial in providing free assistance to both members of the public and businesses in solving specific problems with the public authorities. Its importance is reflected in the growing number of cases brought over the last year. However, given the cross-cutting problems identified at national level, it is vital to consider a series of measures for improving the effectiveness of these centres. I believe, therefore, that Member States must intensify their efforts to provide information to members of the public and businesses on the rights that they enjoy within the internal market by making use of the increase in financial and human resources and the training of employees on the SOLVIT network on internal market rules. It is also important for its employees to have a solid knowledge of English, as well as their native language. I call on the Member States and the Commission to promote greater access to the SOLVIT network for members of the public and businesses, with a view to the effective implementation of the internal market rules."@en1
