lpv:translated text	"Mr President, the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union, the European Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and the rulings of the European Court of Human Rights contain exhaustive information on rights of asylum. This is a fundamental right when there is persecution in a person’s country of origin on the grounds of race, religion, ethnic origin, political opinion or membership of a particular political group, and this is fairly common in the world today. Giving people this right should also mean guaranteeing them the right to develop their lives. That must be a fundamental condition. In order to achieve this, we should give people who have applied for asylum access to the job market, because this is the best way to enable the asylum seeker to be self­sufficient. This also prevents social isolation and helps the asylum seeker to get to know the culture of the host country better. People who have applied for asylum should be guaranteed access to the widest range of procedural assistance, and this includes the right to high­quality legal help in order to make it easier for them to understand their rights."@en1
