lpv:spoken text	"As part of the European Economic Recovery Plan, an extra €1 billion has been earmarked for the development of broadband internet infrastructure in rural areas via the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development. As someone who focuses on agricultural and rural issues, I heartily welcome this initiative. In many Member States including my own, farmers and rural dwellers do not enjoy the same levels of broadband access, putting them at a distinct disadvantage in comparison with people who live in cities and towns. We should remember that this initiative is part of a package which aims to stimulate failing European economies. In this context, I am hopeful that improved broadband access will help stimulate small and medium-sized enterprises in rural areas."@en1
