"Madam President, the Czech Presidency has not been easy, mainly because of domestic problems, and also because of the world economic crisis. I believe, however, that it will end with a very significant success, if it manages to deliver a favourable outcome to the process of ratification of the Treaty of Lisbon. Therefore I would like to ask if the Presidency intends to approach those Member States which have completed parliamentary procedures in this matter and only the Head of State is procrastinating over the signing of this document. This includes my country, Poland. The second matter which I would like to raise is civil dialogue. I was the rapporteur for that report, and I know that Europeans expect the European Union to tackle serious matters and develop suitable solutions. They believe that Europe will do this better than their own Member States. I would ask that this also be taken into consideration. And the last matter, Madam President. Please do not forget about solidarity, and do not allow the European Union to become a platform for nationalism. We do not want a return to nationalism. I would like to appeal very, very strongly for solidarity."@en1
