"Mr President, during the recent European Summit many subjects were raised. One of these was the question of the Eastern Partnership and alternative routes of gas supply. It was decided for the moment to allocate small amounts to these objectives, but it is without doubt a step in the right direction. Europe is facing a huge economic crisis and must look for effective ways out of it. However, we must not depart from our guiding principle of solidarity. We should be especially sensitive to the problems of new Member States.
Although matters related to climate change were discussed at the summit, it can be seen in practice that the crisis which has hit us is marginalising that extremely expensive pseudo-scientific project. Financial means designated for that purpose should be diverted to an effective, united fight with the effects of the crisis. The domestic situation in the Czech Republic should not in any way interfere with this."@en1
