I am absolutely convinced of the benefit of increasing excise duties on tobacco in order to help combat tobacco usage. I would like to stress that, for me, the health considerations are more important than the economic considerations per se. I also find it lamentable that the rapporteur waters down the Commission’s proposals. For these reasons I therefore voted against Mr Becsey’s report."@en1
