"I voted in favour of this report because I agree that there needs to be a balance between theoretical study and practical initiation in every area, including artistic studies.
Mrs Badia i Cutchet’s report insists that the teaching of art history must also involve encounters with artists and visits to places of culture, so as to arouse curiosity and provoke reflection on the part of students. I hope that European governments and the European Commission will adopt the recommendations made in this report, and that we will see improvements very soon."@en1
