Recently, one of my constituents, an enthusiastic supporter of standardisation, contacted me regarding the matter of standardising the plugs for mobile telephone charger units. This matter only seems trivial. I am convinced that if regulations were to be introduced in this field, they would be welcomed by all mobile phone owners. From a technical point of view, the matter is very simple. Such solutions were successful, for example, in the case of standards for compact discs — they can be used in all computers. Perhaps it is worth reviewing such minor matters, in order to help our citizens. They expect it of us."@en1
