"− The June List’s mandate in the European Parliament is based on a promise to voters to work for greater public scrutiny and wise management of the EU’s financial resources. Now, the Council is proposing that any EU projects that do not exceed a value of EUR 1 million and that are cofinanced by the European Regional Development Fund, the Cohesion Fund or the European Social Fund should in future be exempt from monitoring and inspection. That is quite simply unacceptable. We understand that the administrative burden needs to be proportionate to the amounts concerned. Nevertheless, we are critical of the fact that the Council is proposing to leave the field open to the misuse of the EU’s resources in this way. For the reasons given above, the June List has chosen to vote against the report."@en1
