Our tax systems are very complex and to a certain extent are really only transparent to specialists. For this reason, every attempt to improve formalities and general conditions and to combat tax fraud is to be welcomed, provided that the taxation sovereignty of the Member States is preserved and no attempt is made to harmonise tax rates by the back door.
It is equally important to have clear rules for tax-free sales outlets and for travellers themselves. This project seems to have such an objective, which is why I have voted in favour of the Lulling report."@en1
