lpv:translated text	"Initiatives and measures to prevent children from being exposed to crime when using the Internet are extremely important and necessary. For that reason, we have voted in favour of Mrs Angelilli’s report on establishing a multiannual Community programme on protecting children using the Internet and other communication technologies. We wish to emphasise, however, that a number of the measures proposed in the report would be better initiated and paid for by the Member States themselves. Other measures aimed at combating, for example, child pornography should, however, be devised through cooperation between the Member States because of the global character of the problem."@en1
