"Madam President, the point I want to make is, stop attacking the European Court of Justice and the Posting of Workers Directive. It is the Member States that should make more effort. Following the Laval judgment, we in Denmark are now implementing a change to the law, agreed with both sides of industry. Nine lines of legislative text ensure that trade unions can take industrial action to safeguard working conditions that are the norm in the particular sphere concerned. The Swedes are also apparently looking into how in practice to implement the Posting of Workers Directive. We must not change the directive. We must have better information so that employees are aware of their rights, and employers of their obligations. What is needed is better implementation of the directive in practice."@en1
