"British Conservatives support measures to step up the fight against undeclared work, particularly some measures mentioned in the report – those encouraging Member States to reduce the burden of taxation on the workforce and promoting the benefits of legal employment for example.
However, several points made in the report we cannot support.
These include the setting up of a Community-level platform for the coordination of labour inspectorates and a review of Directive 96/71/EC on the posting of workers. British Conservatives believe that the Directive needs to be better implemented but does not require legal modification which could lead to confusion for employers and employees. For these reasons Conservatives abstained."@en1
