The Basque people have the misfortune of being the only country in the European Union which continues to experience terrorism, and that terrorism has been on-going for decades. I personally come from a family which endured 40 years of exile – the same as the duration of Francoism – and if we learned anything at all it was that no political objective was worth the life of a single human being.
