This is also – and I feel that this must be stressed – a crisis of European dimensions, so it is not right to try and respond to this at national level. Thirdly, I want to congratulate the Commissioner and the Commission on the plan that has just been presented. In my opinion, these are appropriate measures, even though they may not go far enough, but they will help to solve the problem at its roots and in the structural factors causing this problem.
