"I shall be very blunt. I think that we also need to engage much more from the Commission’s side, through our representation offices, in mobilising voters, to ensure that we have a higher voter turn-out. We cannot be too cautious. I think we all have to say that we want European citizens to exercise their right to vote and this is how we will engage with Member States – again in partnership, not taking a political position but really just to mobilise voters. We are looking, together with the European Parliament, through the Interinstitutional Group for Information and Communication, at how we can do this. Parliament has already presented a well-crafted and elaborate plan for the EP elections and we will contribute to that in the best possible way, using all our tools and especially our representation offices. Together with Parliament we can make sure that we increase the voter turn-out."@en1
