Every year, landmines still leave thousands of civilians dead and thousands more with missing limbs, and they contribute to keeping countries in post-conflict poverty. This is why we will continue to pursue action in support of the Ottawa Convention. The European Commission is determined to continue its efforts to financially assist communities and individuals affected by landmines, through all available instruments."@en1
