lpv:spoken text	"Burma is one of the worst and longest-lasting military dictatorships in the world. It has kept its people in abject poverty, in stark contrast to the economic success of many of its neighbours. Repression has been brutal. Contact with the outside world is severely restricted, and the situation would have been forgotten were it not for the heroism of Aung San Suu Kyi in providing a focal point for the hopes and democratic aspirations of the people of Burma. I hope that the next few days will see the end of the military regime without further bloodshed and I call on the Council and the High Representative to bring whatever pressure they can to secure that outcome."@en1
