"Mr President, to a large extent, today’s debate deals with the future of Europe, namely whether it will be based on Christian traditions or whether it will lose its past and its future. Ukraine is part of Europe. It shares European traditions, the values of our ancestors and its place is among us. I am surprised that the Middle East is more important to some Members. You can imagine Europe in Asia but fail to see a large part of our continent. Today, Ukraine is in the throes of political and economic crisis. That is why we now need to send it a clear signal that we want it to be on our side, that we want Ukrainian society to make the right political choice, in order to stabilise the situation in the eastern territories of the Union. I would like to congratulate Mr Kamiński on his report. Its contents show a desire to strengthen Europe, a Europe of traditions and values, as well as the economic and geopolitical potential of an enlarged Community."@en1
