lpv:translated text	"We Swedish Social Democrats support the compromise on the definition of vodka, and for the same reasons that the Swedish centre-right government does so in the Council of Ministers. We do so because it is the best solution available to Swedish consumers and producers in that it accords an exceptional status to vodka produced in the manner in which we Swedes expect it to be produced, namely from potatoes or grain. If the compromise disintegrates, there will be no special status accorded to vodka made from potatoes or grain, and consumers will still be unclear as to what they are getting when they buy vodka. People may be wondering why the EU has to decide on how vodka should be marketed. We do, of course, have a common internal market in the EU, and we therefore also have common rules governing what may be sold in this market and in which ways. Democracy should set limits on the market, including on the ways in which different products may be marketed. However, I deeply regret the fact that not even a majority of the Committee on the Environment, Public Health and Food Safety could support my amendments with regard to putting warning labels on alcohol. I intend to return to that issue."@en1
