"Mr President, last Tuesday I had the privilege to attend the dedication of a monument in Washington to 100 million victims of totalitarian Communist regimes. These were not the victims of some misfortune or abstract evil. The evil that caused 100 million violent deaths is real and it must be morally and politically condemned by all international authorities, including the European Parliament. It is our shared responsibility to guarantee that the famous ‘never again’ will also become valid for the nations who were suppressed by Communist dictators.
One-fifth of the world’s population has still to endure Communist dictatorship. Therefore, we must not allow these 100 million murdered people to be considered second-class victims, to whom the free world has yet to pay full tribute."@en1
