"Mr President, today Parliament adopted a resolution concerning the United Nations Human Rights Council and its fifth session. As one of the authors of this resolution, I am very pleased that all political groups have agreed on an assessment of the first year of operation of the United Nations Human Rights Council, and which shortcomings it needs to attend to. They have also authorised a European Parliament
delegation, which will participate next week in the fifth Human Rights Council plenary session – a session, which is particularly important for the future of this organisation.
As one of the authors of this resolution and a member of the delegation, I would like to thank Parliament and my colleagues for supporting the resolution."@en1
