lpv:translated text	"A few days after the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the European Union, the statements by Mr Solana in the European Parliament on the prospects for the European Union's common foreign policy in 2007 confirm the imperialist nature of the EU. The representative of the EU's foreign policy reiterated its intention to strengthen its imperialist role throughout the world. It is strengthening its militarisation by organising its military structures and its rapid intervention forces. Within this framework, it is promoting the creation of an 'independent' protectorate in Kosovo and preparing to strengthen the European occupation by sending a force of 1 500 men. It continues to tighten the economic noose around the neck of the Palestinian people. It is planning a new wave of imperialist interventions in Belarus and Ukraine. It is strengthening its interventionist policy in Africa, so that it is better placed to plunder its wealth-creating resources and to deal with increased trade with China and India, especially in the energy sector. In order to deal with grassroots reactions to the installation of anti-missile defence systems in the USA, the Czech Republic and Poland, it is trying to manoeuvre by referring the matter to the Member States, while leaving open the possibility of the decision on the installation to be taken within the framework of ΝΑΤΟ, behind the peoples' backs.
