"The European Central Bank has its own stable inflation indicator, which is just nearing 2%. However, when the Maastricht criteria are applied, this is not taken into consideration. Under the Maastricht criteria, the inflation indicator is calculated according to an entirely different methodology, which in no way correlates to the inflation indicator of the European Central Bank. Would it not appear that these indicators should be coordinated, so that it would be clear to everyone just what exactly the stable inflation rate is?"@en1
