lpv:translated text	"Mr President, I voted in favour of adopting the report on granting European Union financial aid to Moldova, aimed at supporting the balance of payments and foreign currency reserves. I did so because I am convinced that these resources will allow one of the poorest countries in Europe to overcome its current financial difficulties. Additional exceptional support should prove very useful in facilitating and supporting the implementation of the Government of Moldova’s economic reforms. Bearing in mind the positive social and economic changes in Moldova, including the recent abolition of the death penalty, I believe it is appropriate to strengthen bilateral links with Moldova and deepen its relationship with the European Union. A grant of up to EUR 45 million will send out a strong signal from the European Union, especially in the context of the Russian ban on the import of wine from Moldova and the higher prices demanded for energy."@en1
