"Mr President, I also voted against the Bowis report, my reason for doing so being that we really should not be surprised at the increase in mental illness. People are under constantly increasing pressure at work and at school, and this stress means that we do not perform at our full capacity.
Improved psychoactive medications can at best address the symptoms but not the causes. It will be more helpful to build up European people’s feelings of self-worth by communicating to them our authentic, real and Christian fundamental values. That those who have deep roots in family-mindedness, patriotism and their national identity are less prone to mental illness is not a matter of doubt."@en1
