"Mr President, the Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Affairs, Mr Brok — who has been one of our political group's negotiators for this joint motion for a resolution — has asked me to table an oral amendment which has in principle been negotiated with the representatives of the other political groups. This amendment would be inserted in paragraph 6, where it talks about ‘particular attention to the fight against organised crime’. It would be followed by ‘in the case of Bulgaria’, because the purpose of the amendment is to respond to the report produced by the Commission in May, and it would be unfair to extend this demand to Romania when, according to the Commission, progress has been satisfactory in that regard. That is the wording of the oral amendment, Mr President, and I hope that the House can accept it."@en1
