"Commissioner, thank you for your response. I still think that there is an important European dimension to this issue. You know as well as I do that research has shown that the average consumer uses search engines to find the right websites, much more than by directly inputting addresses, because it is easier, but also because the consumer has faith in those search engines. It now transpires that this faith is not always justified, and it worries me that private firms are not, apparently, required to adhere to the rules. I therefore think that the Commission should take steps in order to ensure that consumers and enterprises, including small enterprises, can make use of those services in a safe manner."@en1
